CAMALYA, before being a brand specialized in the manufacture of fashion accessories, are Commitment to strong values and principles!

But then how is CAMALYA a committed brand?

First of all, consuming just and well is our credo, contrary to some trends, we aim to avoid the fashion of "fast-fashion". This fashion is, for some, a process that generates more activity. But we believe that our planet cannot be sacrificed for the unreasonable increase of activity; indeed, this practice has a real negative impact on it.

Over-consumption is therefore totally antagonistic to our principles.

Secondly, the use of natural fibres in the manufacture of our products is also essential and important to us.

The elimination of synthetic raw materials is of the utmost importance to us for two main reasons:

The first one is obviously our planet Synthetic materials such as polyester, plastic or any other derivative are extremely harmful to flora and fauna. Furthermore, the dumping of tons of waste in remote areas of the world by irresponsible companies is outrageous. We therefore work continuously with our teams to eliminate all synthetic substances as much as possible.

The second reason is obviously thea quality: our driving force. We are convinced that natural materials make it possible to achieve a high level of quality. They allow the preservation of the products over time and therefore, ultimately, long-term customer satisfaction.

One of the strong principles of CAMALYA, and not the least, is corporate social responsibilityis also what makes our brand a commitment. We take into account the environmental, social and economic issues that surround us in order to maintain a qualitative but also, and above all, ethical production.

We are firmly convinced that without the hundreds of men and women who work in the manufacture of the brand's articles in the different countries, CAMALYA would not be able to offer its customers products of such quality. In fact, for us, handcraft manufacturing is much more valuable than the automation of textile manufacturing, especially in remote areas.

Let's go back a few years ago, do you remember this young couple, originally from Madagascar, who founded the company in 1989 and then the CAMALYA brand in 2006? (Cf. previous article). The brand is, for them, the representation of all these values which are dear to them. Even before the creation of CAMALYA, their intention was to help the Malagasy population in one way or another.

In Madagascar, it is thus several tens of women, with incredible know-how, who will realize day after day qualitative fashion accessories and of course in a traditional way.

These women, often from remote areas of the big island, very unfortunately do not always have access to employment.

Our strong will is therefore to help them in all circumstances.This is achieved through a stable working environment and remuneration that is higher than local standards. Firstly, it allows them to provide for their families and, secondly, it enables their children to access education without the need to seek livelihood opportunities. We are scandalized by the child labour we see in some of our productions around the world, and at CAMALYA this is totally prohibited in our internal policy.

There is behind all this a real desire on the part of CAMALYA to participate in the emancipation of their collaborators; economic, social and intellectual emancipation.

CAMALYA 's management team is committed to both first-class French production and ethical Malagasy production. As the team is composed of people born in France and others on the big island, there is a real social responsibility towards these two countries which are dear to their hearts.
